This is YOUR oppotunity
to share ideas on how, working together, universities, businesses and students could address some of the global challenges we face today.
If you are a student in the UK or Vietnam, you are invited to take part in the UK-VN HEP WoW (World of Work) competition 2019!
This is a team competition that is a part of the UK-Vietnam Higher Education Partnership (UK-VN HEP) project co-funded by British Council Vietnam and Bournemouth University.
The aim of the project is to better understand issues around university-industry collaboration in each country and share effective practice in engagement of students for addressing relevant national and global issues on employability and innovation.
The competition is inspired by the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and will run two themes:
- For SDG 4 (Quality Education):
If you had the power to innovate practices in your university, country or globally, that would impact positively on student employability and/or bridge industry skills gap, what would be your top three projects and how would they be implemented?Deadline for submissions:
1st April 2019, Monday, 8pm VIETNAM time (GMT +7)
- For SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth):
How can industry work with universities and students to ensure that by 2020, there is a substantial reduction in the proportion of young people not in employment, education or training? What would be your top three initiatives?Deadline for submissions:
3rd April 2019, Wednesday, 8pm VIETNAM time (GMT +7)
You can join the competition by either registering your team or by requesting that you are assigned to a team. A team could have up to 4 members.
Each team will be presenting their ideas on one of, or both competition themes of the competition through a multi-media artefact (e.g. poster, video, narrated presentation or any other creative way of capturing suggestions). The work will be submitted and shared with the public through a dedicated display on the social network Padlet.
The submissions will be judged by a panel of industry representatives and academics from the UK and Vietnam.
