Seminar “Design the cirriculum of High quality program in Logistics & supply chain management toward international career”

On April 23rd, 2018, Foreign Trade University organizes a seminar “Design the high quality program in Logistics & supply chain management toward international career”. The seminar welcomed the participation of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Anh Tuan – President of FTU; Assoc. Prof. Dr Le Thi Thu Thuy – Vice president of FTU; Dr.  – Director of Educational Training Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr Bui Thi Ly – Dean of Economics and International Business Faculty; head of different departments from Foreign Trade University; representative of lecturers, PhD candidates, and students. The seminar also honorably welcomed the presence of representatives of Ministry of Industry & Trade, Vietnam Logistics Association, scientists from universities, representatives of major shipping lines in the world (Mearsk line, Kul- Nagel …), along with many companies in the field of logistics.

Opening speech of the seminar, Assoc. Prof.Dr Bui Anh Tuan emphasized the importance of opening Logistics and supply chain management major at FTU to implement Decision No. 200 / QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. Prime Minister promulgated on 14/02/2017 to approve action plan to improve competitiveness and development of logistics services in Vietnam by 2025, with one of six important tasks is training, lifting awareness and quality of human resources in Logistics.

Presentations at the seminar focused on the need to open the Logistics & Supply Chain Management major at Foreign Trade University, objectives, output standards, curriculum framework, practicality of the training program, development orientation and human resource needs in the field of Logistics & Supply Chain Management in Vietnam and in the ASEAN region. With the Q & A session, there were many enthusiastic comments from representatives of ministries, departments, scientists, enterprises operating in the field of logistics about content of the program as well as how to implement the program to meet the rigorous requirements of the domestic and international labor market and employers for professional qualifications, foreign languages ​​and soft skills for students after graduation.

At the end of the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan sent his deep thanks to the participants and affirmed that FTU would continuously receive valuable comments to build and improve the content of the program and the first successful enrollment in the 2018-2019 school year with breakthrough innovations in the curriculum, courses, and how to implement the training.
