“Something to encourage people to love themselves as they truly are” were the very first words that sparked the idea of The Original 2018-2019, a contest held by School of Economics and International Business for students in Advanced Program and High Quality Program. Although there were ups and downs along the way, the contest lived up to expectations and beautifully delivered its message, with a grand finale – most would know it by the name of Prom Celestia – on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Wedding Palace, 39/74 Nguyen Thi Dinh, Ha Noi.
With the slogan saying “Embrace your imperfections”, The Original Contest welcomed all participants and gave them opportunities to show off their skills whichever those maybe. Only six couples with unique talents advanced to the final round, and with a powerful yet touching dance performance, Corona Team got the crown they deserved.
Besides being The Original finale, the event was also a prom night. About 200 gentlemen and ladies waltzed into the hall dressing smartly, which was a considerably good turn-up rate for a first-time event. There were a backdrop and props for taking photos, captivating performances by the contestants, a 15-minute tea break and, of course, euphonious ballads during the slow dance session as well as rocking EDMs to end the party with a bang.
